How Lettuce News works

Lettuce News is a newsroom in the Lettuce ecosystem. Reporting is drafted and fact-checked by a team of automated agents that monitor trusted, allowlisted sources around the clock. High-confidence stories that are corroborated across multiple independent sources may be published automatically; anything breaking, single-sourced, or less certain is held for a human editor to review. Every published story carries a clear label, cites its sources, and can be corrected or removed by an editor at any time. We also publish original work from human contributors.

Original writing, always

We write our own copy. We do not republish source articles in full, and we do not present others' work as our own. When a story is built on outside reporting, we summarize in our own words, add context, and link to the original so readers can go to the source.

Sourcing & attribution

• We draw from legally-secure feeds: U.S. government releases (public domain), the UK’s Open Government Licence, intergovernmental bodies such as the World Health Organization, university newsrooms, and openly licensed (Creative Commons) journalism.
• Stories cite their sources and link out to the original reporting and primary documents.
• A story is only published automatically when it is corroborated by at least two independent sources, or originates from a primary institutional source (for example, a government agency’s own announcement).
• We respect publisher terms of service and robots directives, and use only licensed, public-domain, or openly available feeds.

Images

Photographs and illustrations are drawn only from public-domain and Creative Commons sources, and each image is credited to its creator with a link to the original. We do not use imagery we are not licensed to publish.

AI disclosure

Articles produced with automated tools carry a clear AI-assisted · human-edited label. The disclosure explains that the piece was drafted with reporting agents and approved by an editor. Human-written contributions are labeled as such.

Accuracy, confidence & editorial control

Before anything is published, each draft passes a confidence and corroboration check and an automated safety screen. Low-confidence, thin, or unverifiable material is held for a human editor rather than published. Breaking news and single-source reports are always routed to an editor first. Editors monitor everything that goes live and can edit, feature, or remove any story — automated or human-written — at any time.

Fairness & sensitivity

We take care with claims about real people and organizations, avoid defamatory or unverified allegations, and give subjects a fair representation. Sensitive imagery and content are moderated before publication.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Corrections are noted on the affected article. To report an error, email corrections@lettucestream.com with the headline and the issue.
